A South Cheshire entrepreneur has launched a co-working group in Sandbach to empower those who work from home.

Holmes Chapel's Una Cottrell launched her on-line community '45 Not Out' here suite of platforms to bring people to make the change they are seeking.

Now she's using her know-how and confidence to inspire men and women to get the best out of life and go further in their careers..

Una launched Sandbach Co-working earlier this year for homeworkers or freelancers to come together and reduce the isolation they may suffer working from home.

"There's a distinct lack of co-working places in Sandbach and Cheshire as a whole," said Una who worked for Manchester-based agencies before setting up on her own.

"Working from home can be lonely so I came up with this idea to start a group. I launched it in January and it's going well but I would like to expand it.

"The feedback from members has been very positive. Many say how much it helps them and helps to boost their confidence."

So far, the group, which has a Whatsapp community, has met at The Swan & Chequers and today (Friday 21 August) they will be meeting at The Wheatsheaf in Sandbach from 9.30 am until 12 noon.

"The idea is for people to come along, crack open their laptops and get on with their work. They could have just gone into business and feel a bit overwhelmed so talking to others really helps.

"It's a chance for like-minded women to come together and get support."

Una hit on the idea after launching her own business and realising that women 45+ have so much to offer but often get overlooked in the workplace.

She said: "I'm especially interested in and supportive of women in mid-life who might not be getting the recognition they deserve, both in the workplace and life in general.

"That's the reason I launched the 45 Not Out suite of platforms to bring together women of this age to join together and try to make the change they are seeking.

"Anyone who wants to join us can scan the QR code and come along. The more the merrier," said Una.

She added: "There's a stereotype of an older woman that doesn't exist today. They offer such value to a business and compared with younger employees they haven't got the same pressures on them."
