Dear readers, 

I'd like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and to thank you very much for reading this year. 

Every view, click, share and so forth helps greatly, and allows us to keep producing our news, so thank you as ever.

Naturally, we're a local newspaper, and so in an effort to remain 'on brand' I'd like to give a virtual toast with a special emphasis on Sandbach.

More specifically, a toast to all of our connections, however tenuous, to this corner of the world.

Wherever you live in the town or if you've moved from here to somewhere else in the world, we all have some experience of Sandbach. Perhaps a shared memory of a particular road; a similar experience of a big event; or a distinctly local inside joke.

In that sense, we all have something quite peculiar in common. And given the scale of the universe, I'd argue that counts for quite a bit!
