Motorists faced long delays earlier today (Tuesday) after a two vehicle accident on the M6 northbound.

Police were called to an accident betweem a grey Toyota and a silver Volkswagen.

A spokesperson from Cheshire police said: "At 7am on Tuesday 18 November, police were called to a collision on the M6 northbound between junctions 18 and 19.

"Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a grey Toyota and a silver Volkswagen.

"There were no reports of any serious injuries, but there are long delays in the local area and motorists are urged to allow extra time for their journeys."
