Motorists faced delays earlier today (Wednesday) after a collision between a car and a HGV.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound between junctions 16 and 17.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: "Cheshire Fire and highways officers attended and found there had been a collision between a car and a HGV.

"There were no reports of any injuries and the scene was cleared by 9.30am."
