A famous drummer and record producer and an actress cooked up a storm with their chilli business on a visit to Sandbach.

Manny Elias, the original drummer with Tears for Fears during the 1980s and actress Deborah Bouchard of Cold Feet, Coronation Street and Emmerdale fame, run Bongo's Rock & Roll Pickles and were at Sandbach Christmas Market.

The culinary duo, who live near Delamere Forest, were delighted to head back to Sandbach with their impressive line-up of tasty products all bearing the drum-type advertising which goes with their brand.

The couple say they love Sandbach and always receive a warm welcome when they come to the town with their 'rock and roll' pickles.

"We've been coming here since the Christmas market started here and people just love us. Our products are all homemade and we enjoy making them," said Manny.

Deborah, who is playing a character called Marianne, in an episode of Coronation Street which goes out on 1 December, says she can sometimes be found getting up at the crack of dawn to head to the markets to buy fresh chillis.

She said: "We make the products ourselves and it's something we enjoy doing. It gives the products a wonderful taste."

Details of their products under the 'Bongos' label and how to buy them can be found on their website here
