A Smallwood family has opened a farm shop in memory of their loving son who sadly died following a road accident in Rushton Spencer.
And the family is hoping they can help local businesses by supplying their produce and reduce the carbon food print by supplying locally produced products.
Former Holmes Chapel student, Alec Heyworth, lived at his family's farm in School Lane, Smallwood before he died following a serious collision involving a car on the A523 at Rushton Spencer.
The Heyworth's and their late son's partner, Brittany Swinnerton, plus other members of the family, have opened Alec's Farm Shop in School Lane opposite Smallwood village hall.
Alec's dad, Paul, built a timber-framed cabin to house the shop in plus garden benches for visitors sit and enjoy a drink and snack after their visit to the well-stocked shop.
And the shop is stocking milk from the farm's own cows and milk shakes using milk from the cows which were bought on their late son's birthday in his memory.
Alec's mum, Gill, and Brittany, who works part-time as a paediatric nurse at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, will be regular faces serving at Alec's Farm Shop.
Gill said: "This has given us something to focus on and bring joy to the local community. We've put a lot of thought into it and worked hard to get it up and running.
"The villagers seem to love it and we're enjoying running the shop. It's given us all something to work together on."
Brittany (24), a former pupil of Congleton High School, helps milk cows on the farm in between her nursing shifts in Manchester and as well staffing the new farm shop.

"We've tried to keep everything as local as possible. Alec was a wonderful person and always talked about having a farm with cows and sheep," she said.
"We were totally lost for words when Alec died but working on this project has helped everyone. It's something he would have wanted."
As well as stocking fresh milk from their farm and locally-made cheese and butter from Reaseheath, Alec's Farm Shop, near Smallwood Church of England Primary School, is also be selling Alec's Blooms with flowers grown on the family farm.
And as well as stocking food and dairy produce, the shop is also selling gifts for Farms for City Children, a charity very much close to the family's hearts.
