A Sandbach cake maker to the stars had a special treat over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend – a visit from one of her celebrity couples.

North West's "golden" couple, Olympic champions, Dame Laura Kenny and Sir Jason Kenny, who were made a knight and a dame in the New Year's Honours list, paid a visit for afternoon tea.

Debbie, owner of Lois's Little Cake & Chocolate Company in Crewe Road, made a birthday cake for the couple's son and another on their return from the 2020 Tokoyo Olympics.

The cycling legends and some of their family, decided to taste the delicious afternoon tea on offer at the Crewe Road business for themselves.

Debbie said: "It was lovely to see them and their family and we had some great feedback on our Google page.

"The family left some lovely comments. We treated them like we would any other customer. We didn't roll out the red carpet. They are a great couple and a lovely family," said Debbie.

The business moved to Crewe Road in November last year, out growing their old premises in Green Street.

And it looks like Debbie made the right choice for the business is going from strength-to-strength.

TV stars and film makers are among Debbie's list of customers as well as a long list of local names and businesses too.
