Firefighters were called to property in Sandbach yesterday (Monday) after a dishwasher caught fire.

Two fire engines from Crewe went to the address in Tatton Drive at 4.57 pm.

A spokesperson from Cheshire fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out a fire involving a dishwasher.

"The dishwasher was removed from the property. A high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke. One casualty required treatment for smoke inhalation."
