A Sandbach artist has brought Paddington Bear to the town in memory of the Queen - but it's Paddington with a twist.

Paddington Bear hit the TV screens at Christmas last year when the Queen did the famous sketch with him as a spoof.

Fans of the famous bear were in awe of the regal twist given to the popular children's character and his famous marmalade sandwiches,

But what people didn't realise was that the Queen actually preferred jam sandwiches which she had every day since she was a child.

Staff at Sandbach hairdressers, Francesco, wanted Padding to be included in the autumn window display as a nod to the late Queen.

So when artist, Victoria Holland, of Victoria's Art Studio set about incorporating the bear into the window display she researched it thorough.

"Queen Elizabeth II ate a jam sandwich every day since she was a toddler, according to her former private chef," said Victoria.

"I included a jam sandwich not a marmalade on and also included a bunch of Lily of the valley, the Queen's favourite flowers.

"The mural is saying Paddington Bear has saved a jam sandwich for you, along with your favourite flowers.

"I knew lots of people were leaving Paddington Bears outside Buckingham Palace after the Queen's death."

Mike Fenton, owner of Francesco in Sandbach, is delighted with the addition to the autumnal display.

"The Queen was a colourful person and this represents her fun and laughter.

"We had a picture of the Queen on the window for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

"People have been stopping to take photos of our Paddington."

But the wonderful children's character isn't the only memory being shared of the late Monarch by the popular Sandbach salon.

The work of art by Julie Bramley

"One of our lovely clients, Julie Bramley, has drawn an amazing picture of her majesty for our desk, so talented!

"We have two very talented artists. Thank you Victoria and Julie."
