One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a chip pan caught fire in a flat in Middlewich. 

One fire engine from Middlewich and another one from Holmes Chapel went to the blaze in Wheelock Stret at 2.46 pm yesterday (Wednesday).  

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "A fire in a flat was attended by firefighters who removed a chip pan from the property and ventilated it with a large fan.  

"Paramedics cared for one casualty with smoke inhalation."
