A pink church near Sandbach has a new vicar.
The Rev Joe Smith has been appointed the vicar of the Parish of Alsager with Hassall Green.
The Rev Smith is currently serving as a Priest at St John the Baptist, Cardiff and Chaplain to Cardiff University.
St Philip's has a sister church, St Mary Magdalene in Alsager who said on their Social Media: "Rev Smith and his family will be moving to Alsager in July. The congregations of St Mary Magdalene and St Philip's are very much looking forward to welcoming them.
"We will be inviting everyone to join us for his licensing at St Mary Magdalene's church, on Monday 20th July at 7pm by Bishop Mark, Bishop of Chester."
St Philip's Church in Hassall Green, Sandbach started off life in Alsager. In 1883 it was moved by horse and cart to its present location in Hassall Green and a permanent church was built at St Mary's in Alsager.
In the early 1880's, the building of Alsager's new church began and by 1883 the temporary, corrugated iron building began to receive its first worshippers.
