Plastic materials left on top of a kitchen hob caused a fire in Middlewich

Fire engines from Middlewich and Holmes Chapel went to a fire in Bembridge Court, Middlewich yesterday (Tuesday).
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went into the property at 8.34 pm last night and found a small fire in the kitchen, caused by plastic materials left on the hob.
A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The fire was extinguished and a smoke curtain and high‑pressure fan were used to clear smoke from the flat.
"One casualty was treated at the scene by paramedics and received oxygen therapy."
