Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following an incident on the M6.

At around 9.30pm on Friday 18 October, a traffic management crew was implementing a closure of lanes one and two on the M6 northbound between junction 18 and 19, around 1km before Knutsford Services.

As one of the workers was closing the lanes, a white vehicle collided with one of the cones being placed onto the carriageway, which subsequently hit the worker.

The worker suffered serious facial injuries as a result of the incident. The driver of the white vehicle, believed to be a 2012 Mercedes, failed to stop at the scene.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or has dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.

PC Alex Whitehurst said: "As part of our ongoing investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident.

"We are also urging anyone who was driving along this stretch of motorway at around this time to check their dashcam footage for anything which may be relevant to our enquiries.

"You can report information to us via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting IML-1943184."
