Police close Sandbach road after person is trapped in car following road traffic collision

A road in Sandbach was closed yesterday (Sunday) while emergency services attended to an accident.

Firefighters from Crewe spent around an hour and 20 minutes at the scene of the accident in Congleton Road.

The road traffic collision involved two cars, with one person trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters removed the door of a car to get the casualty out from the accident at 3.09 pm.

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Police attended and closed the road and the crews removed a door of a vehicle to assist in getting the casualty out and to the care of paramedics."
