Police have recovered a stolen quad bike from a flooded field in the Sandbach area earlier today (6 March).

The quad bike was stolen from an address in Kelsall earlier this week and police say the incident is under investigation.

Writing on the Cheshire Police rural crime team Facebook, Sgt Simpson said: "Imagine seeing something you've worked hard for ending up like this!

"This is why it's so important we as a team try to disrupt and detect these kinds of offences. Vehicles like this can be critical to the owners ability to carry out their work."

Officers are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the green quad being ridden in the fields around Sandbach on the 2nd or 3rd March to get in touch. The post did not specify which are of the town.

Other quad owners have been encouraged to keep their vehicles blocked in if possible.
