Popular village pub near Sandbach closes for a major refurbishment

A popular pub in a village near Sandbach is closed for a major refurbishment.
The Old Red Lion closed earlier this week and reopens later next month on August 20th.
Work is well underway on the inside and outside of the building which stands in the shadows of the quaint St Luke's Church.
The pub is part of Ember Inns and is a prominent feature in the village renowned for its links with pop star Harry Styles as we revealed here yesterday.
The Old Red Lion said on Facebook: "As many of you might have heard, as of Sunday at 5pm (28th of July), we will be closing for a refurbishment on the building that will leave us closed until the 20th of August.
"We cannot wait to have you all back in after we re-open to show off our shiny new pub!"
The pub is also advertising for a chef ahead of its reopening later next month (August).
It said: "As a chef at the Old Red Lion, you will master our menu, with your food being the reason guests keep coming through our doors!
"Join us at Ember Inns. Think traditional pub grub, roaring fires and real ales set at the heart of the community. If you want to be part of the Inn crowd, we want to hear from you."
