Primary school near Sandbach moves from 'Good' to 'Outstanding' in latest Ofsted
Staff and pupils at a primary school near Sandbach are celebrating, after the school the highest grade in its latest Ofsted inspection - outstanding!
The Dingle Primary School in Haslington has moved from 'Good' to 'Outstanding' after a two-day inspection which is rare under the current Ofsted framework.
Comments from the positive report say: 'Pupils flourish at this exceptional school' and that 'Pupils have a thirst for knowledge and relish learning new concepts.'
A delighted Ben Cox, headteacher, said: "I am very pleased with the report and in particular how it has highlighted the pupils' achievements and the successes of their school.
"Our children work hard in school, behave well, support each other and as a result, do well. It is a whole school effort and a result of strong teaching, and support from parents and Governors."
The report highlights the priority The Dingle has for the teaching of reading, and the ambition of the school's curriculum, saying pupils take pride in their work and their ability to talk about what they have learned is 'impressive'.
Mr Cox said he is equally pleased that the abundance and variety of extra-curricular activities in the school is described as 'Outstanding'.
He explained: "We have always tried to offer a variety of activities that interest our children such as trips, visitors, sports, drama, music and coding clubs to name a few.
"We ensure that children are coached, taught and prepared for any activity in which we take part such as sport, drama or musical performances.
"Our success and invitation to such events is testament to the staff's commitment to the children, and to the children themselves who represent our school with pride."
The children and teachers celebrated the publication of The Dingle's fantastic Ofsted report by providing a movie afternoon and extended play time to reward the pupils' hard work and achievements
Sandbach Nub News' sister site, Crewe Nub News told here how the popular school had submitted plans for a two-classroom extension to accommodate growing pupil numbers.
The scheme included improvements to the car park with provisions for bin store and cycle parking and well as the formation of a MUGA (multi-use game area) on existing playing fields and the replacement of high-level windows to the hall and the installation of photovoltaic panels to the roof.
