Project to revamp the outside of Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College gathers pace

Work updating the front of a school in Sandbach is set to be take place in the last week of June next year.

Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College was awarded around £1million of funding from the DfE's Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) 2022/2023.

The school has used part of the money putting on a new roof and the rest is being used to install state-of-the-art windows at the front of the Middlewich Road school.

Headteacher, Ellen Walton said: "So much brilliant work goes on inside the school we want to make sure the front reflects this.

"We have to wait until this part of the school is vacated to do the work which will be the last week of June.

"It will totally transform the front of the school and has thermal glass to keep the warmth in during the winter.

"The fins at the front will retract heat during the summer when the sun is on the building. We're so excited about the project."

The school was one of 1,129 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools nationwide who have shared £498 million of CIF funding in this round of funding. 

A total of 1,405 projects across the country will now be completed thanks to the CIF funding, including the projects at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College.

Now Sandbach High School and Sixth form College is getting ready to submit is CIF funding application for 2023/2024 to complete work on the windows to the side of the school
