A pub near Sandbach is throwing a party this weekend – to celebrate being named 'Pub of the Year' 2024 by the Macclesfield and East Cheshire CAMRA.

Earlier this year, The Bull's Head at Smallwood won the title hot on the heels of the `Pub of the Season Autumn 2023' last year by the Macclesfield and East Cheshire CAMRA.

Now owners Ian Evans and his wife Sharon are throwing a music event and BBQ on Saturday (June 1st) when their award will officially be presented.

Ian and his wife took over the village pub 24 years ago.

Ian said previously: "We're passionate about what we do. We rotate our beers, seeking out different brewers.

"We always have a good selection from local beers to others from Somerset and Scotland. We love what we do."

It's something of a family affair at the Bull's Head for Ian's son Jake and his wife Melissa also work at the pub.

"The award is for us all because we're very much a team. It's family-run and we're proud of what we do," said Ian.
