In recent years, defibrillators have become a common fixture in every English town, village, city and even certain hamlets.

Sandbach is not alone with having lots of the electrical life-saving kits.

Defibrillators in Sandbach can be found all over town, from Ashfields Primary Care Centre, Waitrose supermarket, to The Cricketers Arms.

And now, in Sandbach, and across the UK, campaigners have now shifted their focus to getting another piece of accessible life-saving kit in public places.

A bleed control kit is a relatively recent device that can, can save lives for those bleeding externally, so treatment can begin before paramedics arrive.

According to bleedcontrolkit.co.uk "A person can 'bleed out' and die in around 3-5 minutes from massive loss of blood, unless someone finds where the bleed is coming from and knows how to stop the bleed before the ambulance arrives to help."

And a Sandbach man has an ambitious goal to supply a bleed control kit, next to every defibrillator in Sandbach.

Colin Storey has launched a crowdfunder for £5000, to get a bleed control kit at the same building as every defibrillator in Sandbach.

"In a world where unforeseen accidents and emergencies can strike at any moment, being prepared is not just a choice but a necessity," said Colin.

"One of the most crucial aspects of emergency preparedness is the ability to control bleeding effectively, as severe bleeding can be life-threatening and require immediate attention.

"Thankfully, advancements in medical technology have led to the creation of bleed control kits, essential tools that empower individuals to take action and potentially save lives in critical situations."

£145 has been fundraised so far, of the £5000 goal.

Should he meet his goal, expect to see bleed control kits next to defibrillators across Sandbach, like the ones at Sandbach Primary Academy or Sandbach Town Council.
