Race organisers get ready to stage this weekend's Sandbach's annual 10K race

Sandbach's annual 10K race starting and finishing from the town's rugby club takes place this weekend.

Last year's was the biggest and best and this weekend's, which takes place on Sunday (July 27th), is set to be as good if not better say organisers.

The annual event, in its 18th year, sees runners from a variety of clubs across the area, including Congleton and Cheshire Harriers and is organised by Sandbach Striders, a running group in the town.

Lucy Crayston was the fastest woman last year while David Morris was the fastest man. Crowds gathered to watch the annual event organised and run by Sandbach Striders with around 50 volunteer marshals.
