Residents living near a community playing field gifted to the community by a salt firm are holding their annual general meeting this month.

Ettiley Heath Playing Field in Sandy Lane was donated to the community in the 1950 by salt firm, Palmer Mann.

The field is charity-run and the committee are appealing for as many people as possible to attend the AGM on Monday, January 15th.

Ettiley Heath Playing field committee recently launched its '100 Club' – a small monthly lottery to raise funds.

A 100 people are needed to buy a number for £12 a year. Each month, three numbers will be selected.

Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to the Field Fund and the remainder will be allocated as prize money.

A spokesperson said: "We are pleased to invite the Ettiley Heath community to a long overdue AGM on Monday 15th January, 7pm at the Ettiley Heath Church Community Hall.

"The field is charity run, so it is crucial for us all to come together to discuss improvements and long-term sustainability."
