A revamped pub watch scheme which includes 37 radios is going live in Sandbach this week.

Sandbach Town Council has invested £5,412 on revamping the scheme which will see venues across the town linked up ready for the festive season.

Cheshire police, Sandbach Pub Watch, business owners and Sandbach Town Council have all worked together to launch this next step.

Town Mayor, Councillor Kathryn Flavell said: "These radios allow faster and direct communication with scheme participants, Police and CCTV operators so that incidents can be dealt with swiftly and safely.

"This will help to make the town centre an even more attractive place to visit and enjoy, knowing that systems are in place to protect businesses, public and premises if assistance is required."

A training session was held earlier this week at Sandbach Town Hall to launch the event and get participants taking part together.
