Road closed in Sandbach after grass catches fire from fallen power cable

Police had to close a road in Sandbach at the weekend after a power cable fell over and grass caught fire.

Firefighters from Sandbach used one hose reel to put out the grass fire in Dragons Lane, Moston.

A fallen overhead power line caused grass to catch fire at around 6.48 pm on Saturday night.

They closed the road as the cable was live and were helped by Cheshire police until l Scottish Power arrived to take over.
