Rodney is rescued after being trapped in his horsebox on M6 near Sandbach

Animal rescue teams and firefighters went to free a horse trapped in his horsebox on the M6 near Sandbach.
Firefighters from Sandbach and Knutsford and animal rescue teams from Bollington and Knutsford were called to free Rodney the horse at 3.35 pm yesterday (Sunday) after he had become trapped over a bar.
The incident happened between junctions 17 and 16 with the technical rescue unit from Knutsford and the animal rescue unit from Bollington going to the incident.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters removed a panel of a horse box to free a horse that had become stuck.

"With support from an Ashbrook Equine Hospital vet, Rodney was freed unharmed and taken to hospital to rest. Great work all."
