Officers investigating a serious collision on the M6 are appealing for any witnesses or those with footage to come forward.

At around 3.20 am on Friday 18 October police were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound between junction 18 and 19.

The incident involved a car transporter and a black Ford Fusion.

The driver of the car, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains at this time.

The driver of the car transporter was uninjured.

Sergeant Russell Sime said: "We are continuing our enquiries into this incident, and we would now urge anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.

"The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage.

"You can report information to us via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting IML-1942535."
