Sandbach businesses have released details of some of the closures on Monday (September 19th) for the Queen's funeral.

Waitrose, Aldi and Iceland will all be closed for the day, with the Co-op running limited opening hours.

A spokesperson for Waitrose said: "September 19th 2022 – the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's funeral – the nation comes together to reflect on her long, happy and glorious reign.

"As a mark of respect, Waitrose stores will close for the day.

"We extend our heartfelt sympathy to His Majesty The King, The Royal Family and all those whose lives she touched."

The Co-op says on its website: ""Our Co-op would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, following the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

"She dedicated herself to faithfully serving the nation during her long reign.

"Our Co-op has fond memories of the day Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh opened our support centre, 1 Angel Square, in 2013.

"Many of you will personally be reflecting on your own special memories over the coming days.

"We join the Royal Family, our colleagues, customers, members and those from around the world who will be reflecting on her historic reign.

"As a mark of respect and to give our colleagues, customers and members time to reflect and mourn, our stores will be closed on the 19th September until 5pm."

The Old Hall in Sandbach says it will be closed for the day and re-open as normal on Tuesday, September 20th.

"We just wanted to let you know that we have decided to close on Monday 19th September as a mark of respect to the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and to allow our crew the opportunity to pay tribute," said a spokesperson.

"The pub will be open as normal this week and will reopen on Tuesday 20th."
