A Sandbach business has literally turned over a new page in its history books - after cooking up success with a celebrity cake for a TV star.

Debbie Fenton could hardly believe her eyes when she was approached by book publishers, Penguin Random House, to produce a cake for a book launch.

But the cake was no ordinary cake for it was for a book launch for the runner-up in the fifth series of Love Island – none other than Molly-Mae Hague.

Debbie, owner of Lois's Little Cake and Chocolate Company in Crewe Road, said the publishers had spotted the Sandbach caker maker's work on their website.

She said: "We got a week's notice to make the cake and then deliver it to a secret location in Manchester.

"It was a lemon and raspberry sponge and sugar floral arrangement not forgetting her famous Elly Belly of course!"

Lois's were emailed a front cover of the book, "My Story – Becoming Molly-Mae". The book charts Molly-Mae's rise to fame.

And there was another Sandbach connection as the book was featured in an advertising board outside the town's WH Smith earlier this week.

Molly-Mae says on the back page of her book: "I've always had big dreams and I feel that led me exactly to where I wanted to be.

For the first time, I want to share it all with you. The highs, the lows and everything in between."

Lois's amazing cake was obviously success on a plate as well.

"The publishing company was really pleased with it and said how lovely it was," said Debbie.
