A Sandbach deli and café and a Congleton eaterie are linked together – thanks to a fun idea to give something back to the community.
Gibsons' Greengrocer's & Deli in Sandbach went on a staff day out to Wild & Wild in Congleton.
While there, Gibsons' staff noticed Wild & Wild's 'Pay it with a Post it' board offering customers a free beverage or something to eat.
The idea allows customers to donate something and put it on a post it note as they pay at the till for their order.
Gibsons' owners, Emma and Chris and the rest of the team liked the idea and decided to launch it at their High Street business in Sandbach.
And now they are hoping their 'Cup of Kindness' board will help bring New Year cheer to customers who enjoy dropping in to the popular venue.
Emma said: "We just thought it would be a nice thing to do for anyone having a bad day or struggling and needing a bit of a pick-me-up.
"It's on the wall as you come in and all customers have to do is tell us they want to donate something and we or they pop it on a post it.
"If we notice someone is struggling or we think they might benefit we might quietly point it out.
"A cup of tea or a coffee can really make a difference and pick spirits up."
She added: "It's just about helping someone going through a bad time or having a bad day.
"We had some members of a bereavement group come across from St Mary's Church last year.
"We offered some post its to them and they were so grateful. I think the pandemic has highlighted kindness and how we can help others struggling."
Sandbach Nub News told in December how click here.Gibson's reverted to home delivery and takeaway service in the run-up to Christmas to protect staff and customers from Covid.
The business is now fully back open to customers using both the deli and café.
