Sandbach children who are looking for something different to do this summer, are being invited to learn new skills at some special science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) holiday clubs.

From coding drones and robots, to stop motion animation, STEM Skill Clubs have a different theme every day. The clubs for eight to 13-year-olds will run every day from 14th to 25th August at Sandbach School in Crewe Road.

"Our holiday clubs are a place for local children to learn new skills, meet new friends and enjoy themselves in a safe, friendly atmosphere," says Dr Liz Surry, director and founder of STEM Skill Clubs.

The clubs are designed by scientists and educators for aged eight to 13. Amongst other activities, the children can learn how to generate electricity sustainably, code Sphero robots and get them to compete in sports, and learn how to hand-fly a drone and then take part in team races.

"We also encourage the children to ask lots of questions as that's what all good scientists and engineers do," continued Liz.

STEM Skill Clubs will run from 9 am – 4 pm every day and cost £34 per day. There's no minimum booking, children can come for a day, a week or all of the sessions. There is a discount for full week bookings. Early drop off and late pick-ups are available at an additional cost.

Parents can find out more on the website here  and they can make a booking directly through the class for kids link here
