Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, John Dwyer, will be speaking at a community group meeting in Sandbach next week.

It will be the sixth meeting of the Sandbach community group, formed to help organisations in the town.

Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, John Dwyer, is attending the group's October meeting at Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road on Monday, October 17th.

The facilitator, Sandbach Co-op Member Pioneer Arnie Laing, is hoping to have a good turnout at the event which starts at 7.30 pm.

He said: "The Sandbach community group meetings started in May and for October we're delighted to celebrate six months of these open invitation monthly meetings by announcing that John Dwyer, the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, will be the main speaker.

"The PCC has visited Sandbach previously but will be more accessible on this occasion as the community meetings are open for everyone to attend.

"The meeting is open to all organisations and residents I hope as many people as possible come along and take part."

The news comes just after the PCC reopened his Community Action Fund with money available for projects across Cheshire to prevent and tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

The fund makes £100,000 available for projects which benefit the local community by working towards improving the safety of individuals in the area. Applications are open until 30 November.

Individual bids of up to £5,000 can be submitted by applicants who are working with their local policing team to address their area's priorities. Applications are welcome from community, voluntary or third sector groups, including Parish Councils. More details about the fund can be found here https://www.cheshire-pcc.gov.uk/news/latest-news/2022/09/applications-reopen-for-community-action-fund/

When Co-op Members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes into their Co-op Membership account and Co-op gives the same to support community organisations and local causes.

Co-op Membership helps support Co-op's national charity partners and Local Community Fund causes. See https://www.coop.co.uk/membership
