Sandbach resident and Elworth town councillor, Nicola Cook and her husband Mark, are joining the Prime Minister today at the service to mark the 40th anniversary of the end of the Falklands War.

Nicola, assistant director of the Royal British Legion, managing welfare services, is travelling to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire where Boris Johnson will be in attendance.

There will be a live link to a corresponding ceremony in the Falklands.

At the weekend, Nicola was interviewed by the BBC World News for a programme about the Falklands 40 years on.

Nicola said: "We will be remembering their contribution and particularly the sacrifice of 255 British personnel who sadly lost their lives.

"As a champion of remembrance, the RBL has brought people together to remember the service and sacrifice of the UK Armed Forces, their families and the civilian communities involved in the Falklands War to ensure their contribution is never forgotten.

"RBL is supporting many Falklands veterans and their families living with physical and psychological health issues because of their service in the war.

Nicola has urged any Falklands veterans and their families to come forward and contact the RBL if they need help.
