Last season's Champions Curshaws (in blue) are back on top of the Crewe and District League.

SANDBACH Curshaws have emerged again at the top of the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE table helped by Sam Critchley's hat-trick.

The Champions have started relatively slowly by their standards, having dropped two points from their opening four games, but they were in imperious form when seeing off their title rivals FC Bollington by a 5-2 margin.

Darren Bailey netted twice to add to Critchley's finishing, leaving Curshaws top on goal difference ahead of Bollington and Crewe Town, who thrashed Mary Dendy 1982 6-1.

AFC Crewe were hammered 10-2 by Sandbach Town Ramblers with Tom Butler netting six of the Ramblers' goals.

James Johnson, Andy Holloway, Lee Wakefield and Damian Sloan were also on the scoresheet.

Sandbach Town went down narrowly at Crewe Wanderers for whom Chris Tomkinson scored twice (2-1). Tom Edwards was on target for Sandbach Town.
