Dancers from Sandbach will be strutting their stuff this weekend – to help boost funds for a charity set up in memory of one of their crew members.

The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation hopes to pass the £50,000 fundraising milestone this weekend in memory of a teenager who passed away from a tragic car crash.

Georgia performed with the Street Dance Academy in Sandbach and tomorrow dancers from the company are performing twice at a charity football match extravaganza.

The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation charity fundraising football match takes place at Congleton High School on Saturday (July 9th) at 2pm.

Julie Harris, owner of Street Dance Academy (SDA) said: "The crews are all looking forward to this and are so excited.

"Georgia danced with us for 10 years and we knew her well. She was a popular member and everyone loved her.

"Project G which is named after her will be performing. Her memory stays with us and carries on. We are delighted to be performing."

Dancers will be performing various routines at the free event, which promises to be a fun family day out, with a catering van, ice cream van, refreshment tent, and more.

New bouncy castle business Congleton Castles will be there, and will waive a portion of their profits to The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation.

The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation was set up by Georgia's family in her memory and aims to help improve the well-being of individuals living in the Cheshire and Staffordshire, particularly children and young people.

The aim is to help local charities, especially those who provide support services for people bereaved and injured in road crashes and the professionals who care for them, including the emergency services.

And tomorrow's event, which everyone is welcome to attend, isn't the last in the pipeline for SDA in Georgia's memory.

The dance company has named its showcase performance at the Crewe Lyceum on July 24th 'We Got This' a phrase which Georgia used constantly when she performed with the company.

And they will also be present, as they were for the foundation's masquerade ball for their next ball in memory of the amazing 17-year-old who loved dancing.
