Members of a girls' football team are as warm as toast – thanks to a Sandbach delicatessen and coffee shop.

Gibsons' Greengrocer's & Deli in High Street has funded new training equipment and clothing for Sandbach United's U11s football team.

And players dropped into the popular eaterie to show their support and thanks for their new mid-layers.

Chris Payne from Sandbach United's U11s told Sandbach Nub News: "As girls football continues to grow in popularity, the numbers at Sandbach United have steadily increased which is brilliant to see.

"As we expand, funding new training equipment and clothing is always difficult and without the generous support of local businesses it wouldn't be possible.

"The mid-layers provided by Gibsons' are fantastic. They give the girls such a professional look and a real identity as a team.

"Thank you so much to Emma and Chris at Gibsons' Greengrocers & Deli - your support has made a real difference."

A spokesperson from Gibsons' said: "We're delighted to be able to support Sandbach United Girls U11s by providing their mid-layers.

"It is a great way for small businesses like ours to gain exposure, whilst supporting a club which is making a real difference in girls football.

"We're proud to support such a fantastic football club."
