A new shop is about to open in Sandbach selling Asian food.

Husband and wife, Edwin Cheung and Lyn Deesit, are opening Bigwin Asian mart in High Street next month (June).

The couple liked Sandbach so much that they have decided to bring a touch of the East to the town.

It's the first business which Edwin from Hong Kong and Lyn from Thailand have owned.

And the couple, who have named their shop after part of Edwin's name, are looking forward to opening the business.

They are currently fitting out the shop in High Street with shelving and space to stock an extensive food range.

"We have family in Sandbach and have visited the town a lot," said Lyn.

"We love it here and we're really pleased with how people have made us feel so welcome already.

"We've visited the town a lot and always come to the transport festival and the makers market. We just fell in love with Sandbach.

"It means people won't have to travel to Manchester or bigger cities to stock up on Asian food.

"Sandbach is such a lovely quiet, peaceful town. We've had very positive feedback already. People are so friendly here."

The couple will stock a range of food from the East from sauces to  noodles, fresh chilli and Chinese leaves.

They say people are cooking more Asian-inspired dishes due to people travelling more.

The couple have had tote bags made with the company's logo on and are giving away the bags to the first 50 customers on the day of opening.
