The Cheshire side look to put a 1-0 home loss behind them when they travel to Abbey Hulton on Monday 30th August.

An ill-tempered match against Manchester side Abbey Hey resulted in defeat for the Ramblers, and Andy Hockenhull will be keen for his players to put that out of their minds ahead of their trip to the 8th-placed Stoke side.

The defeat is the only blemish in an otherwise excellent start to the season for Sandbach, as they have won all other league fixtures barring an away draw to Ellesmere Rangers.

The free-flowing, scintillating football puts the Ramblers with the second highest goal difference in the league, with young forward Bobbie McDonnell joint-top of the goalscoring tables with 9 goals in 7 games.

Abbey Hulton have had a mixed bag of results to start their NWCFL season, winning and losing 3 games each with their only draw coming against 20th-placed St Martins.

The Stoke club won their most recent fixture away to Cammell Laird 2-0, breaking a three-game losing streak.

Previous meetings between the two teams have gone slightly in favour of Monday's hosts, winning three meetings compared to Sandbach's two.

However, the Ramblers won the most recent league meeting 1-0 when the two teams met in December 2019.

Billy Buckley, who recently re-signed for Sandbach, has a great goalscoring record against Abbey Hulton with 3 goals, coincidentally all coming at Drayton Beaumont Park.

Sandbach fans will be hoping he will be available for selection again after missing the weekend's defeat.

The match kicks off at 3pm at Drayton Beaumont Park on Monday 30th August.
