Sandbach man charged following 'drink drive incident' in Cheshire town

A Sandbach man has been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit for alcohol, following a late night incident in a Cheshire town.

On Saturday 7 October, Cheshire Police sighted a white Vauxhall being driven erratically on Coronation Street.

At around 10pm, officers pulled over the vehicle with a male driver breathalysed at the roadside.

John Jennings, 35, from Sandbach, blew 81, well over two times the drink driving limit on Coronation Street (Google).

The Sandbach man was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.

Mr Jennings has since been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

He is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 26 October.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A male from Sandbach has been charged in relation to a drink drive incident on Saturday 7 October.

"At roughly 10pm, police were conducting enquiries in the area on another incident, when they sighted a white vauxhall being driven on Coronation Street. 

"The vehicle was stopped by officers, and a male driver was breathalysed at the roadside.

"He blew 81, with the limit being 35. The male was arrested and taken Into police custody.
