A Sandbach mum with a love for baking has launched her own business.

Mum-of-one Jade Marsh was looking for a job which fitted in between looking after her and her partner's little boy, Theo, aged three-and-a-half.

The talented baker came up with the idea of opening a Jade's Bakes and Cakes in the front garden of the family's Wheelock home and the blossoming business was officially launched yesterday (5 November).

Jade's Bakes and Cakes is in the front garden of the family home in Oldfield Road and offers a range of cakes from Oreo Cookies to flapjacks and Twix brownies and lots more besides.

Jade said: "I've always loved baking cakes and people have always come to me to bake birthday cakes and celebration cakes.

"I was looking for a job which fitted around Theo going to pre-school and came up with the idea of cake shed. There's nothing like this in Wheelock.

"I started off selling the cakes at the local pub, The Cheshire Cheese, and that went well so I decided to launch the Cake Shed."

Jade, who did 'A' Levels in Law, Sociology and Business Marketing at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College, researched the idea thoroughly and had 1,000 leaflets printed to advertise Jade's Bakes and Cakes.

"I used my business knowledge from school and ran a Social Media campaign as well as posting leaflets through doors of houses in the Wheelock area.

"We've done everything ourselves. I tested some of the recipes on neighbours and have gone from there. I just love baking and Theo sometimes stands and watches me."

Sandbach Nub News wishes Jade all the best with The Cake Shed.
