What an amazing sight spotted by reader Jane Stanway during her Valentine's Day walk in Dingle Wood, Sandbach.

Jane spotted the Scarlet Elf Cup which the Woodland Trust describes as "mystical and cheery".

They say it grows on decaying sticks and branches in damp spots beneath leaf litter on the woodland floor.

"Their bright pops of colour brighten up even the darkest winter day," said a spokesman.

Jane couldn't believe her eyes when she stumbled across it. "A perfect shape for Valentines Day," she said.

Thanks for sharing it with us Jane and we hope it cheers up the day for Sandbach Nub News readers.
