Sandbach opticians set for a rename after it's taken over by another firm in the town

A popular Sandbach opticians has been taken over by another optician in the town after its owners retired.

Paul Rowlands Opticians has become Bayfields which is currently based in Hightown.

The new premises in Georges Walk is closing temporarily for a refit and reopening in July.

In between times, customers will be using the current Bayfields premises in Hightown.

Rosemary and Garry Pickerill, directors of Paul Rowlands Opticians, at 2 Georges Walk have retired after running the business for nearly 29 years.

Some of the staff and optometrist from Paul Rowlands Opticians have transferred over to Bayfields.

Rosemary and Garry Pickerill said on Social Media: "It's with a heavy heart that we are closing Paul Rowlands Opticians.

"Thank you to all our patients past and present that have supported us over the last 29 years.

"We have had a wonderful time serving you all and have made many friends along the way.

"We are off to enjoy our retirement and wish you all well, Rosemary and Garry."
