A Sandbach shop is celebrating after winning the town's annual best dressed window competition – just a month after opening.

Sandbach Party Supplies in Welles Street is used to making celebrations go with a swing for others.

But the colourful business, which only opened its town centre premises a month ago, is this week celebrating itself.

Judy Henson (32) and Stacey Rowley (33) launched the business 14 months ago after Judy lost her job with a sports company in Manchester during COVID.

Both had always loved giving children's parties and helping others organise and run parties due to the "feel-good" factor parties provide.

Their eye-catching Nutcracker window display with snow and giant bauble baubles, kindly supplied by Horizon Event Hire, ticked all the boxes with judges at the town's late-night shopping event.

Mayor Councillor Geraint Price Jones who judged the competition said: "I was impressed with the originality of the display which stood out despite the high standards set by the other shops in Sandbach."

Judy and her partner Stacey worked into the early hours one night creating their display. Judy said: "We wanted something to go with our pink theme. It did take a few hours but we had great fun doing it." Their winning trophy is proudly display in the shop window of the business which stocks around 700 products from candles and tableware to balloon arches.
