Sandbach RUFC were honoured to host Cheshire RFU President Mark Jordan at Bradwall Road recently.

Mark came to meet club officials, players, members and volunteers and take in the 1st XV's match against Winnington Park.

Whilst visiting, Mark presented the club with a commemorative plaque as part of the county's 150th celebrations.

Mark later sent a note praising the "hard work" and culture of the club.

He said: "You have some great facilities and it's clear to see the results of a lot of hard work and fundraising. I liked the club last time I was there, about 10 years ago, but it's unrecognisable from that now.

"But it's people that make clubs, and you have a friendly lot who create a great atmosphere. A club genuinely integrated with the local community. A lot for other clubs to learn from."

Mark also witnessed the quality on the pitch as Sandbach ran in nine tries in an entertaining 55-22 win.
