A popular Crewe town centre store with post office is set to close down in 2023 - after a customer notice was placed in the shop window.

WHSmith, Victoria Shopping Centre, has announced it will be permanently closing down its Crewe town centre store on 18 March, 2023.

The store has a post office inside which will be closing down at the same time.

And customers have been sign posted to WH Smith in Sandbach.

Today (December 8), a Crewe resident saw a customer notice store closure poster placed in the shop window.

The poster read: "Unfortunately this store will cease trading on 18 March, 2023.

"We would like to thank you for your custom.

"Your nearest WHSmith store is WHSmith Sandbach and WHSmith Nantwich Books and Stationary."

WH Smith has two stores inside Crewe Railway Station - with one accessible from the Nantwich Road entrance.

The nearest WH Smith will now be in Sandbach on the High Street.
