Students at a school in Sandbach had an extra day's holiday today (Monday) after a power outage caused staff to shut the school.

School buses were back on site at Sandbach School at 10 am to take pupils home from the Crewe Road school.

But Sandbach School says the problem has been resolved and the school will be up and back running tomorrow (Tuesday).

A post on Sandbach School's social media said: "This morning's power outage has been resolved, and the school will reopen as normal tomorrow morning.

"The outage was due to a malfunctioning new mains incoming breaker. Please accept our apologies for the disruption to the start of the new term."
