Sandbach solicitor, Darren Neighbour, will be among around 100,000 runners to take part in the London Marathon on Sunday.

The 41-year-old commercial property lawyer with Poole Alcock is running the race to raise money in memory of his dad, Colin, who died from Sarcoma.

Darren is hoping to raise around £5,000 for Sarcoma UK. His wife and young children will be in London to cheer him on.

Darren, who has been training for months said: "One small 35 minutes run today and then that's it until Sunday. In 48 hours I'll be on my way to the start."

The London Marathon, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has raised more than £1 billion for charity since the first race in 1981.
