Sandbach stands still today as the town pays its respects to fallen heroes

Crowds gathered near Sandbach's War Memorial today to pay their respects on Armistice Day.

The town came to a standstill with employees from local businesses coming out on to the Market Square for a two minute silence and short service.

Rev Bee Boyde asked people to remember the 120 names on Sandbach War Memorial and also all those who have died since in conflict.

The town will once again pay its respects on Sunday (November 12th) at the Remembrance Parade which leaves Cheshire East Council's HQ, Westfields at 10.40 pm to march to the centre of Sandbach.

Lions Brass Band will be at the Market Square at 10.20 am while Roberts Bakery Band will lead the procession. There will be a two minutes silence at 11 am at the War Memorial followed by an 11.15am service at St Mary's Church.

Meanwhile in Elworth a Remembrance Parade will march from Elworth Methodist Church at around 10.50 am.

There is a 10am Service at Elworth Methodist Church with a two minutes silence at the War Memorial at 11 am.
