THE pandemic may have had an impact on the jobs market, but business is booming in Sandbach and the hospitality industry has some great opportunities.

Many of the vacancies are listed in our job section in Sandbach Nub News section, which we bring to you in partnership with KPI Recruiting Ltd.

But this week we are bringing you two local jobs both working within the food and pub industry in the town.

Every fancied working in the shadows of the stunning Grade II listed St Mary's Church in the town centre?

Café on the Square is advertising for a part-time assistant working around 15 hours a week to add to its team.

Owner Rob Lea says he would prefer barista experience and previous experience in this line of work is required.

"It's a lovely place to work and a beautiful building in a great location. When it's sunny we have lots of people sitting outside enjoying the scenery and location.

"The job would suit someone who wants to work around children," said Rob.

The café is located in Sandbach's Market Square opposite the town's famous Cobbles and the Sandbach Crosses.

Anyone who is interested should phone the café on 01270 761729 and ask for Rob or drop their CV off at 2 Market Square, Sandbach.

Further out of town there's a vacancy at anther historic location – near the picturesque Trent and Mersey Canal at Wheelock.

The quaint Cheese Cheese pub is a prominent landmark and has a vacancy for part--time front of house member.

Kayleigh Marnie is a trainee assistant manager and has worked at the pub for four years.

She loves the job. Kayleigh said: "The pub has so much character and is so unique. We get lots of people coming in from narrow boats on the canal.

"It's not like work most of the time, It's just such a lovely atmosphere and the customers are so friendly."

Pub owner Hydes Brewery say the role is working as part of a team to deliver excellent standards of customer service, ensuring each and every customer receives the best service possible.

Continual training to develop skills and knowledge will be part of the role and previous experience is not essential as full training can be given.

Paying attention to detail is necessary say Hydes Brewery as well as being passionate about hospitality and having excellent interpersonal skills.

Working hours will be a minimum of 12-16 per week working shift patterns.
