A village bakery in Bradwall has started supplying bread for an Alsager coffee shop which opened earlier this year. demand.

Business is booming at Home Coffee & Studio in Lawton Road which has created five part-time jobs to help run the business.

And the business has launched a mew food menu using products from local suppliers including Bradwall Bakehouse in Sandbach and Alsager-based Naomi Bakes.

"We tasted the bread from Bradwall Bakehouse and were delighted with the quality and taste," said architect, Alex Melhuish who set up the business with his wife Nikki.

"We also use Naomi Bakes. It's important to support local businesses."

Home Coffee & Studio serve toast using Bradwall Bakehouse bread either sourdough, wholegrain or fruit loaf as well as artisan sandwiches using the bread.

Fiona Barlow from Bradwall Bakehouse said: "We're proud to be suppling Home Coffee Studio with our freshly baked artisan breads.

"Alex and Nikki, together with their team, have created a fantastic spot to enjoy quality coffees and delicious artisan foods."

 The Scandinavian-style coffee shop has comfy chairs and is designed so people can go in and meet others over a coffee or tea.

They have created a "beautiful home" for everyone to come and enjoy and meet up with friends and make new friends.

Alex also runs his own architect business, Home Studio Architect, and used to commute to Manchester to work before settling in Alsager.  

He said: "The feedback we've had has been amazing and we're so happy people are finding this a social space to come and meet others.

"We have such a strong client base. It's been an amazing few months."

The lunch menu includes Bradwall Bakehouse Toast and Naomi Bakes Quiche as well as a mini menu for children including small toast, sandwich and muffin.
