Sandbach resident, Nicola Cook (pictured), assistant director of regional operations at the Royal British Legion found herself at a special ceremony today – the 100th anniversary service of the Royal British Legion in London.

Nicola put a series of photographs on social media as she eagerly awaited for the arrival of the Queen at today's prestigious at Westminster Abbey for which she said she honoured to be invited.

She told Sandbach Nub News: "It was a truly humbling event hearing about how the work of the Legion affects and improves the lives of veterans which we support through the teams I manage."

Nicola, who recently stood as a candidate for the Town ward in Sandbach Town Council by-election, manages all the regional welfare teams which support 40,000 veterans a year.
